“Falcon” by Craig Drake

This Millennium Falcon print by Craig Drake is both stylish and absolutely stunning in my opinion. FALCON_1024x1024.jpg Check out his work at the Hero Complex Gallery. The image is 36″ by 24″ and available in three variants. Prints are available for a very reasonable $55 and the edition size is limited to 200 prints. The Variant has an edition size of 40 copies and is $250. It’s printed on metal, which really makes the colours stand out. Then there’s the “Mega Variant“. At a cool $750, it’s printed on brushed Aluminium and limited to an edition size of 10. It sounds expensive, but the actual size of the print is a whooping 60″ wide by 40” tall. These have already sold out but they’ll be quite the conversation piece. Craig Drake Mega VariantPrintWell, I’m definitely getting the paper print. I would inquire about the Mega Variant, but i feel that shipping to he UK would be prohibitive. Here are a couple of detail photos courtesy of collider.com. Falcon by Craig Drake DetailFalcon Detail 2The Hero Complex Gallery is also hosting an exhibition called “Righteous Rides And The Dudes Who Ride Them” on the 3rd May. Be sure to check it out for more examples of Millennium Falcon artwork. 15 April: shipping on the Mega Variant is $750, but on such a large item, I can see why. They’ve agreed to sell an Artists Proof to me and let me pay in installments of $375  a month for 4 months. Great news!!! They still have some of Drake’s “Solo” prints in both that regular and the Variant available. LANDSCAPEWell, my variant (30/40) has arrived and it is stunning. 05/10/14: Well, after nearly six months of waiting my mega variant finally  arrived. Shipping to the UK on this became quite a saga and in the end cost me $960 (for a $750 print).

I must confess that i was starting to regret the purchase. However, when i unpacked it, all of my misgivings went away as it is stunning. (I couldn’t wait until i got home, so i opened it at work. One of my colleagues took a photo.)

Huge and stunning. I do believe that this is now the favouite item in my collection.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as it increases. Well, that was the plan but it now seems to be more about cataloguing any Millennium Falcon item in general now so that i can come back to them later.
