Bob Trahpek’s Millennium Falcon motion sculpture

Personally, i don’t think there is enough sculpture of the Millennium Falcon so i found this item rather interesting.

It’s a motion sculpture of the Millennium Falcon by artist Bob Trahpek. Unfortuately my internet’s not working at home and my work PC won’t let me access Bob’s myspace page.

Its a fair size as that’s a vintage toy from the 3 3/4 action figure line. The sculpture itself is 6 feet tall, 5 feet wide and 10 inches deep and the Falcon is suspended in front of the moving sky by transparent fishing line.

The fabric with the clouds [painted on is attached to two rollers. The clouds and the Falcon itself is painted in UV paint so that they glow under blacklight and the rest of the sculpture disappears in the dark so that it looks like the Falcon’s flying low over clouds. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I wonder how much something like this goes for?

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as it increases. Well, that was the plan but it now seems to be more about cataloguing any Millennium Falcon item in general now so that i can come back to them later.
