Posted on a Cantina Wall by Tim Whitney

I saw this rather nice print by Tim Whitney on Society 6 today and think it’s pretty awesome. It tells the story of A New Hope using just icons. Clever stuff. I’ve had a look to see if there are any others to form a series, but alas, this is the only one so far.

As well as a front view of the Falcon and the deflector dish, i also thought that there were enough less obvious references such as the Docking Bay 94 symbol and the Dejarik table that make this ideal for my collection.

About mffanrodders

A keen Star Wars collector since 1977, my collection focus seems to have taken on a turn towards Han Solo's iconic Star Ship. Why the Millennium Falcon? No one else seemed to have one at the time and it was fair to say that i had difficulty resisting the higher end models. My friend, icruise from Rebelscum has a superb blog for his Jabba the Hutt collection, I thought that i'd start this blog to chart my own collection of Millennium Falcon related stuff as it increases. Well, that was the plan but it now seems to be more about cataloguing any Millennium Falcon item in general now so that i can come back to them later.

A non-fan would probably see this as nothing but visual gibberish, but it’s likely that no other movie (or movie series) is as visually dense as Star Wars that you can tell its narrative graphically. Even the scanning crew’s equipment crates serve as a story point!
Hmm, I’d be keen on a Empire Strikes Back one, but I should get this.

Yeah, i left a message to see if he was going to do Empire and Jedi. They should bothe feature the Falcon, so hopefully i’d be justified in getting a set.

I also found Star Wars in iconoscope (all three movies) by a designer called Wayne Dorrington. These are very clever and very cool. (I’ll post them soon, but check them out.)
